On the eve of the Day of Science Workers, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with domestic scientists and congratulated them on their professional holiday. At the end of the event, the President awarded a group of scientists with state awards, as well as handed over apartment keys to a number of young scientists.

Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Head of the Laboratory of Molecular Genetics, Professor Erlan Kenesbekovich Turuspekov was awarded the Order of «Kurmet».
Erlan Kenesbekovich is an outstanding specialist in the field of biotechnology, genetics and plant breeding. Author of more than 180 scientific papers, including in international high-ranking scientific journals, co-author of four zoned varieties of agricultural crops.
Erlan Kenesbekovich has extensive experience working in leading world scientific centers, has been awarded many foreign and domestic prizes and scholarships. He is a member of expert groups and editorial boards of scientific journals, including foreign ones. Under his leadership, active work is being carried out to prepare highly qualified personnel in the field of biology.
For outstanding achievements and significant contribution to the development of science in Kazakhstan, Erlan Kenesbekovich Turuspekov was elected an academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2024.

Also, two young scientists of the Institute were presented with keys to the apartment: Kapytina Anastasia Iosifovna, junior researcher of the laboratory of molecular biology and Kanat Bakhytuly, junior researcher of the laboratory of genetics and selection. On behalf of the young scientists, Kapytina Anastasia expressed her gratitude.
