Professor Hiroshi Hisano from Okayama University (Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture, Japan) visited the Molecular Genetics Laboratory, RSE «Institute of Plant Biology and Biotechnology» (the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan (IPBB) for a two-day visit (July 24-25, 2026). Professor Hisano presented a paper on barley genomics, generating considerable interest among those attending the seminar. During the visit, the results and prospects of joint research on the genetics of wild and cultivated barley were discussed. Professor Hisano noted the need for further scientific collaboration between scientists from Kazakhstan and Japan and his willingness to support young scientists at the laboratory in improving their skills in cereal genetics.
