The results of the 2025 annual «Best Scientist» award have been announced. Following the competitive selection process, 50 scientists representing research institutes, higher education institutions, and research departments of various organizations were named laureates.
The award was established in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 1, 2024, No. 103-VIII ZRK «On Science and Technology Policy» and is one of the systemic measures to support scientists implemented by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Its goal is to reward researchers who have made significant contributions to the development of science and technology, as well as to stimulate scientific and research activities.
In 2025, the competition received 358 applications across seven fields: Natural Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Medicine and Healthcare, Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts, Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences, and Military Sciences and National Security.
Following the work of the Republican Competition Committee, the decision was made to award the 2025 «Best Scientist» prize to 50 scientists whose research and scientific results have made a significant contribution to the development of Russian science.
The winners included four Institute employees: Asil Arunovna Nurzhanova, Chief Researcher of the Laboratory of Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor; Dilyara Aleksandrovna Gritsenko, Head of the Laboratory of Molecular Biology, PhD, Associate Professor; Shyryn Semizbaykyzy Almerekova, Leading Researcher of the Laboratory of Molecular Genetics, PhD, Associate Professor; and Alibek Kamzabekovich Zatybekov, Leading Researcher of the Laboratory of Molecular Genetics, PhD.
