On December 29, 2025, a general meeting of the staff of the Institute of Plant Biology and Biotechnology was held, dedicated to celebrating the New Year and summing up the results of the Institute’s activities for 2025.

At the meeting, Director General Zhambakin Kabyl Zhaparovych summarized the results of 2025, congratulated the staff on the upcoming New Year, and thanked them for achieving high quantitative and qualitative scientific indicators. The heads of the laboratories also expressed their congratulations, noting the laboratory’s contribution to the Institute’s achievements.

During the event, awards were presented to scientists who have made significant contributions to the development of Russian science.

Following the annual «Best Scientist at IРBB» competition, a certificate and award were presented to the winner—Professor Svetlana Veniaminovna Kushnarenko, Head of the Germplasm Cryopreservation Laboratory—for outstanding scientific achievements.

Certificates and awards were presented to the winners of the young scientists’ competition «The Best Young Scientist of the IРBB in 2025» for outstanding achievements in the development of scientific research (1st place — PhD, Alexander Sergeevich Pozharsky, 2nd place — PhD, Madina Talgarovna Kumarbayeva, 3rd place — PhD, Dias Lamzarovich Daurov). The curator of the Council of Young Scientists, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor Erlan Kenesbekovich Turuspekov presented incentive prizes for active scientific work to the following young scientists: A.S. Pozharsky, M.T. Kumarbayeva, D.L. Daurov, Yu.A. Geniyevskaya, and M.M. Ermagambetova.

Certificates and awards were presented to the winners of the Conference of Young Scientists of the Institute of Biological Research (IBBR) (1st place – PhD, Yulia Anatolyevna Geniyevskaya, 2nd place – Master’s degree, Aruzhan Sairanovna Mendybaeva, 3rd place – PhD, Akerke Yklaskyzy Amalova).

Chair of the IРBB Young Scientists’ Council, Akerke Ykylaskyzy Amalova, presented a report on the Council’s activities in 2025. On behalf of the Young Scientists’ Council and on her own behalf, she presented incentive prizes to several young scientists. During the discussion, the Council’s and Akerke Ykylaskyzy’s personal involvement in the institute’s scientific and social life was noted.
